Rainbow Waters.....Queensland......Scotts Head...NSW....

Wednesday 5th August......off to do a shop as the Blacks are coming to stay at the park with us for the next 4 days.....Party time!!

A goanna came to visit.....watched it closely so it doesn't park itself nearby!!!

Thurday6th August...The Blacks arrived and party time began......

Dinner at the sports club Friday night but we started with a walk into town and back,we did around 8kms!

Jenny found a local business....must be a New Zealander with that sign out the front!!

A walk in the national park to the Cooloola Sand Blow......a huge sand dune that has been accumulating for thousands of years!

Huge hole in the side of a tree,birds have laid some eggs!

Sunday 9 th August,last day with the Blacks until they catch us at Scott's Head in about a weeks time!

Camp fire with some grey nomads from Tumut!! We are leaving tomorrow heading south ,Blacks are headed to Caloundra ,daughter Lauren and grandie Maddie are flying up.......and then they'll catch up with us at Scotts Head near Coffs Harbour....

Arrived at Scotts Head Tuesday11th August ...... Set up camp...one of our favourite spots.....great weather around 25 degrees!

Friday 14th August....barefoot bowl as at the club next door to park...

Yes that bowl is mine and yes it won us that game.....my one and only good bowl for the day but had a ball,oooops,bowl !!!!

Sunday 16 th August......

 

Didn't quite make it back to the van....bit of a shower!

Cleaned up and popped across to Stuart Point bowling club for Chinese for lunch then back to the Scotts Head club to listen to Ali Christopher.....singer...sat and had a champagne and enjoyed!!

Wednesday 19th August.......Blacks and Kings are due to arrive.....I've cooked a good old fashioned stew with dumplings for dinner for us all....bring it on!!

Wednesday 19th August.......the Blacks and Kings have arrived,served them up a good old fashioned stew and some home made apple pies....

 

 

Yes too many wines for some !!!!

Bagara......QLD.....Hervey Bay...

Arrived in Bagara Tuesday morning!! Catching up with some friends we meant while caravanning! Ernst and Margot have moved into the Palm Lakes retirement village! We visited their house today,Wednesday and were impressed! They have sooo many facilities and they say it's like living in a resort! Their home in brand new and they love their lifestyle and the weather is an added bonus!

Good storage for caps.......I'm not sure why one would want sooo many!!!!

Beach at Bargara,never changes!! Weather has been good but you southerners can keep those cool South west breezes!!!!!

Stuck in the middle.....but I wouldn't give up the spot either!!!!

Sunday 19th July.....nice walk this morning,back to van,shower then a walk back down to shops for a bit of retail therapy!!!

Hervey Bay...... Arrived Tuesday 21st July.....overcast ,spotty showers of rain,we are directly opposite the boat club,actually Harbour View Caravan Park is now owned by the boat club! Wednesday dawned a warm day,blue sky,off to get some groceries and a drive around and a cup of coffee along Charlton Esplanade! Lovely day!!

 

Bay is so calm,I'd even venture out on it!!!

Friday 24 th July........ Morning cruise out on the bay into Platypus Bay to the whales!! We got lucky ,a pod of 4 who eventually settled in and gave us a good show,even one breeched but my pic was out of focus!! It could have warned me!!!

Sunday 26th July...... A nice long walk around the foreshore of the bay.....beautiful day!!!

Departed Hervey Bay......onto Rainbow Waters....Thursday30 th July...

Nice grassy spot.....yes satellite dish is up and had it working within half an hour...Woohoo!!!

Buck decided to get the boat off as we caught up with a lovely couple from Dubbo that we'd met in Emerald so while the boys were out fishing Anne and I went out for coffee......great presentation of humming bird cake!!!

Morning exercise,weird fog or mist ,extremely heavy dew this morning!!! Weather is warming up expecting 25 - 27 degrees for next few days plus the wind has gone!!

Monday 9th August......eerie this morning,sea mist,fog hovered in and out of the bay!!

Winter whiting seems to be the main catch although flathead,bream ,trevally as well! Buck had a good day yesterday 34 whiting,they are only small,no size restriction and bag limit of 50, we got 2 today,bit late catching the tide and it came up choppy !!
