Mackay has some lovely old buildings....a lot are Art Deco,my favourite era !!
Nice lunch spot at a cafe at Bucasia about 10 kms north of where we are staying...
Great spot but.......Buck and I both had a laugh at the sign..(cause injury or death) ,huh,you don't say!!!!!!
Shoal Point,a km or so further on than Bucasia.
They launch their boats off the beach!
Gorgeous spot ,no signs for crocodiles but I don't think I'd risk it!!!???

Friday July3rd..... Out to lunch,drove back towards Bucasia and turned off at Eimeo....
Beautiful avenue of trees leading up to the top of the hill...
Eimeo Hotel,great setting...
Out on the verandah,sheer drop...
Cluster of islands......national parks!
Nice drop of wine... La Bossa...Pinot Grigio !
Entree....seared scallops wrapped in prosciutto ,spicy chicken wings.....scallops were lovely,Buck could do a better job of wings!
Seafood Marinara....for Buck...
Haloumi salad,walnuts,sun dried tomatoes and orange glaze,Yummo! Enjoyable and wow what views,will visit again! Called into Blacks Beach,great caravan park but no doggies allowed! Bugger!
Saturday 4th July......last day in Mackay...went to the markets at the showground,mainly produce..big bag of veggies etc for $20 ....really fresh,stall holders mainly Asian,I reckon they grow it in their back yards,the soil is so black and fertile!!! Cost me at least double that at home! Off to Armstrong Beach near Sarina tomorrow !
Sunday 5th July...
On the road to Sarina and then onto Armstrong Beach,only about 15 sites,one of the smallest parks we've come across right on the beach!
The park is in behind these trees!
Our site,just enough room,cement slab and room for the car out front of van!
Amenities block,I reckon the park is spread out over only 2 house blocks!!
Huge foreshore!!
Moose being a dog!!
Fisherman George set up ,catches whiting,shark and flat head. They launch boats off the beach and fish up in the crocodile invested creeks!!!!

Sure glad that dog was on a leash - would have been good fodder for the crocs I reckon!
